Virtual Disability Expo Presentation: The 4 Key Foods to Avoid to Overcome Chronic Fatigue & Brain Fog
After a bad relapse in 2018, I was suffering from chronic fatigue, brain fog, depression and anxiety. Desperate to restore my quality of life, I decided to try eating a “clean”, anti-inflammatory diet – hoping it may help improve my symptoms, but not expecting it to work. However, within 3 months, I had made a remarkable recovery – I had energy again, my brain function was back and my anxiety and depression had disappeared!
With my background in scientific research, and curious to understand how food had made such a dramatic impact on my symptoms, I started to investigate the impacts of diet on autoimmune
disease. I uncovered 4 key food groups (that most of us regularly consume in our daily lives), that are actually toxic to our bodies, cause systemic inflammation and lead to “leaky gut” – all of
which contribute heavily to autoimmune symptoms and weight gain. Essentially, I discovered that the food we eat is either fueling the disease or healing it!
Looking for evidence, I came across many functional medicine practitioners and other autoimmune sufferers who had experienced similar results to mine. I also analysed 15 different dietary recommendations and looked for common links for finding a diet that would be best for my autoimmune health.
Iʼm now on a mission to share my findings with others and explain the importance of diet in improving autoimmune symptoms, including brain fog and fatigue.
